It’s fairly obvious that the 2020 World Series Champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers, are gunning for the number one MLB spot again and are looking to defend their title.

With a shortened 2020 MLB season, the Dodgers were on the receiving end of some targeted critique, most of which was aimed at the shortened season and whether or not it was a “real” championship. However, so far in 2021, the Dodgers have proved those critics wrong with a strong start to a full MLB season.

The team from Chavez Ravine was the first MLB team to win 10 games and are one of two teams left in the league that have not lost a series this season, the other being the Kansas City Royals. They are also the only time with more than 11 wins, sitting at the top of the MLB with a 13-3 record.

Some additions to the roster have helped bolster their play, with players like 2020 Cy Young winning pitcher Trevor Bauer, who was possibly the biggest offseason signing in the league. Dodger farm players like Luke Raley and Zach McKinstry

Some Dodger fans were reluctant of the moves made during the off-season, with Dodger fan favorites such as Kiké Hernandez and Joc Pedersen moving on with their careers and finding different teams, but the late signing of Bauer seemed to ease the tension.

Regardless of the criticisms received or roster moves, the Dodgers are looking solid despite being so early in the season.
